    ESC and Motor question

So funds are kinda tight and I have a question that I may already have the answer too but figured, what the heck I will throw it out and ask anyhow.

    I have a PT stealth 30 and a Neu 1527 .5y on 4s. P-sport hydro setup for racing etc.

I want to use the Tekin RX 8 I have in it untill I can get a new ESC. Tekin site says the esc is rated for 220 amps cont but I really don't know. This is where my question comes in and my thoughts are that it will not work but?? Has anyone done this? Will it work?

    Thanks for any responses

Not a prayer. You have a very hot motor that will easily pull more than the RX8 can handle.
It might handle a 1515 1Y size motor.

      I agree with Tyler.

RC Car ESC Ratings, and boating reality, don't often mix well.

Save that Expensive Tekin ESC and buy yourself a good Marine ESC. You'll be much happier...

Thanks for the replys guys. I didn't think it would be good and my brother said it wouldn't work either, but like i said, i was throwing it out there. I have plans to get the swordfish 300 light version and that should work. Our first race is in 2 weeks and that's also payday, lol. Well p-ltd sport hydro it is..

Got it Steve, Does D9 race P Sport regularly? We race P-Ltd Sport hydro in D19, but never P.

P-sport and P-offshore are new for us this year (2015). We will have P-ltd, P-sport, P-ltd offshore, P-offshore. Should be a fun year for electric here. I am kinda new, well just getting back at it after a very long time away and we have just voted in these classes for this year. They were not all offered last year and everyone seemed excited to have / offer these electric classes for the 15' season. Come out and run with us :)

I just ordered the swordfish 300 light from OSE for the PT. I hope it works well in ltd and open. Now I just need to figure out a good prop for p-sport, any sugestions?
