    OSE flex shafts

I wanted to buy a flex shaft for my BJ29 V3. The OSE store doesn't have mine in stock. Can I order one cut to length from them? Will it come attached to the prop shaft or will I have to do that? Does it come with the Teflon liner? And do I need left or right drive? (first boat... can you tell?)

    thanks

You can order it either way as parts or all put together but there is no choice for having it cut to length

FYI attaching a propshaft is nothing to be worried about. I soldered mine all the time. Never had one fail.

Use a L.h. .150 flex shaft and a octura short Collet 5mm shaft x.150 cut to fit soldier end so won't unravel lots of post on this site to guide u. However the pro boat shafts are strong the Collet that is crap.

That's exactly right. My collet slipped and there's a slight wear mark around the flex shaft. Maybe I don't need a flex shaft just yet and just a new collet. Do you just use regular soldier? I couldn't get soldier to penetrate my existing shaft, but that could be because of the grease that I couldn't clean off it.

Well u can try that. But with my experience with this situation. Should replace both. The shaft might slip even with just replacment of Collet. Now 1 don't greaseflex last inch were u install into flex use alcohol to clean flex ,last tighten it with thumb and forefinger on 1 hand as tight as you can on end of wrenchesand Collet won't slip. ☺
