Help me buy my first boat!

help me buy my first boat!
hey everyone im new here and im sure you have gotten this question a million times but I need help picking my first boat. I will not be getting into racing just for fun. I am already big into rc cars and trucks so im not new to the rc world, just boats. I was currently looking at the impulse 31, the revolt 30 and Spartan. I would like to stay in the range of $500. I also have no idea if I should even be getting a deep v or a cat. I do want it to be fast but I do not want to give up reliability and performance just to have a fast boat. please help me make my first boat a good one.
    thanks!!

Any one you would choose over the other? Or any other boats that I didn't list?

Welcome, I've had good luck with the aquacraft brand and have a revolt 30 which is a solid choice.
I also have the motley crew and lucas oil catamaran style boats and they're great too.
On the proboat side, they are a reputable company too and I have the mystic cat which is fun.

Where will you run your boat?
choppy open water than a V hull is better choice
smooth pond or lake than a catamaran is great and fun

Never had the Spartan but seems it has some known issues

Watch some videos and see which style boat catches your eye and that you like how it runs, that will help with your choice.

What type of water do you have available.................large wavy lakes, or calmer "Ponds" etc................. A Vee hull is much more forgiving in any water and is easier to set up for a newer boater. They can also be very fast(I have had vee's over 70mph as others have as well). If you have protected water that is calmer a Cat will be a good chouce as well.

There are times where the lakes I drive on will be smooth but choppy more often than smooth

I am new to boating as well. I've been flying RC planes and helis the last few years and just wanted to try something new. I went for the new Proboat Blackjack 29 v3. Absolutley love it!
It's super stable in calm water and stays glued to the water. The new hull seems to have been improved over videos ive seen of the v2. The design and material seem to be quality and the new motor and esc have been improved. I tried 2 x 2s lipos to begin with and its very tame. I quickly moved to 2 x 3s lipos and its much faster and fun. Enjoy!

Welcome, I have both the revolt and impulse v1, two great boats.
Also a ul-1 when my lake is smooth.
What the heck, get a v hull and then a cat when you can afford it and enjoy both types of water.
I myself will be getting a cat in the near future.

Kind of hard to find a Revolt now, most places are out of stock and it has been discontinued. Do you know where to get one?
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Yea that was my other concern I noticed the revolt seemed rare. If I am able to find one which would you guys recommened, the revolt or impulse? And any out of the box upgrades I should do?

This boat has had alot of good reviews from seasoned boaters, Carbon Fiber 36" length, nice hardware............needs an ESC and servo, use your current radio system as it does not come with one.

If you sign up with Hobbyking and log in it usually drops in price when you place it in your cart.......

...............BUT, the tried and true 32" Pursuit is a GREAT boat...........I have one as do many others, it turns on a dime, and can haul the mail. Its needs ESC and TX.RX.

Its is easily upgradeable too, most folks put a 3674, 4074 or 4082 in it.

Well I've been watching a lot of videos and was wanting to lean towards the impulse but on a lot of the videos it seems to bounce a lot. Is this something you can fix with a little tuning or what?
