    lipo's question

Hello all. i'm rather new in the electric boating. I would like to know if anyone can exsplain to me what's the "p" stands for in lipo's batteries. like for example, there are 2s2p lipo's and 2s1p lipo's. what is the difference between them.
    I really need your assistense.

I think 's' stands for serial and 'p' for parallel. in the case of 2s2p that would mean four cells. 2 sets of 2 serial cells running in parallel. I would therefore suggest that in this example it would actually be two seperate packs of 2 serial cells, which have been connected in parallel.

If you arn't confused enough from that explanation, in my SV27 I run two packs in parallel, each containing 6 cells which are connected in serial. Hence I am runnint 6s2p.

yep! 2S Lipo stands for 2 cell (2x4.2V) if you put 2 in parallel then you double, the capacity, the run time and the max amp you can pull from your pack.
be carefull if you buy a single 2S2P pack, this means you will in fact get one pack made of 2 but the important thing is that when you charge Lipo's you have to balance them, each cell has to have the exact same voltage as the other (4.2V max), Lipo pack have two connection, the main power connection and the balancing tab, a 2S pack has a 3 pin balancing tab a 3S has a 4 pin tab, but as far as I know cheap 2S2P pack have the same balancing tab witch mean you can't really balance them properly when charging, some people say they are running 2S2P, meaning they have two packs in the boat, if you search on e bay you'll find cheap 2S2P "all in one" pack, these are the one to be considered as not good see this one here is a 2S2P but the balancing tab has only 3 pin!!!
