Need more speed from 2s mono set-up ?

Hi all looking at my 2s mono set-up tonight . Mono length 22 1/2'' beam 6 3/4'' hull weight including hardware 21 oz motor Leopard 3650 3900 KV esc 120 amp Seaking 2s 2p Team great hobby 2500 mah 50c lipo's.Last fall i tried all props from x432-x440/3 with top speeds in the 37-39mph range motor and batt temps about 10 degree's above ambient tempature . I was kind off hoping this set up would put me in the 50 mph range. What size prop ? What is wrong with this set up? Regards Andris Golts.

3900kv is pretty low for 2s, you might try higher pitch props like x642, or more KV (I have run 4700-5550kv on my 2s boats), or 3s.

      correct ; 2s 3900Kv ...hmmmmm...
      try 3s and smaller prop:+/- 35mm

80km/u is very fast for a 22" boat, you'll need very smooth water

3900 is not in my opinion too low for 2s.....................its over 30,000 rpms unloaded, pretty good zone to be in. The 642 mentioned is a monster prop for a 3650 motor in a 22" boat, that'll send the ESC up in smoke. 39 mph is respectable for that setup, but 50 mph is basically out of the question for it. You may consider an x637, it should put you a bit over 40, thats all that system can do. A 2500-3000kv 3660 on 3s would be faster................but your hull is only 22", its gonna be a wild ride too much over 40.

You have to remember torque roll too with a large prop on a 22" boat, smaller props would be better for control and handling. Really a 22" boat is a bit small for N2 mono but, it could be fine with a higher KV motor, solid batts and a tougher esc depending on motor choice.

If it were me, I'd run a 4400-5000kv'ish motor and run props in the 38mm range'ish.

Is it one of your wood boats? What hull?

Most guys will run a hull up to the max 27", a Neu 1515 .5Y and a strong esc like a SF180 or Castle 240, whatever you can fit in there.

This motor in your boat or a 26" bling rocket that I have will work well if you can get a cooler on it. 4400kv 4 pole Tenshock 36 x 70mm motor: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/301041945428?...84.m1423.l2648
