Want to power a woodstuff 28. Got a 180a seaking and OS leg with adapter waiting for a motor. What would you use. Want it fast. I go with lep. Motors to keep costs down. What kv and size would be fast? How bout a prop? What would you use.

Define fast.....do you intend on racing?Grand River Marine Modellers

No far from it. My gas f1 gas boats. Go 50 60 mph. That's quick. Maybe that speed or quicker. Having my own pond my electrics are for personal entertainment and comparison on different set ups. If there is problems I walk to my house and fix it. It's learning. And a interest. Maybe one day I'll be good enough to race. But this is good for now.Doesn't matter, real or RC, boats are just a hole in the water where you throw your cash.

I dont know how much "room" you have under your cowl or if you are running without one but Leopard also makes a 4060 4D 2450kvLast edited by Make-a-Wake; 01-23-2015, 12:38 AM.NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? I meant "cowl" not canopybtw, edited it. Anyway, I dont think you will need 6s with that smallish hull. Will your outboard leg take a 40mm motor? The 2450kv 4060 sure would be nice on 4s as you need to run more pitch and less diameter with that hull..............as a rule. Some may chime in and say they ran it with an x470...............etc..........
Not sure of an exact speed obviously but you should be reaching the hulls limits with either motor.

That hull should be fairly light, right? I think you are really getting up there into the overkill zone with 4082's. A 3674 is huge and plenty of power, I'd try and find one in the 23-2500kv range for 4s if you choose to go that routeNEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? Steven sells the 3674 in the 2650kv............that would be a beast in that hull on 4sNEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE:http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

Thanks your input was very helpful.
Actually one last thing. I have a new lepord 3674 still in the tube. It's 2200kv. I was keeping it for another project. But then I was thinking that like you said it would be incredible on 4s. You think the 2650kv would be good. Is there much performance or speed difference in the 2. Also if I buy the 2650 and use the 2200 on a similar boat would I be able to use a swordfish 120a esc with any of them? On the non woodstuff boat I was using a 3650 2090kv with the 120 swordfish but it didn't seem to have enough oomph. I was using 3s. I'm thinking of using the 3674 2200kv on the woodstuff. And just getting another 3650 with a higher kv for the other one. (Keeping up with this? There is a method to my madness)Last edited by Zen; 01-23-2015, 02:05 AM.Doesn't matter, real or RC, boats are just a hole in the water where you throw your cash.

Thanks like I said you have been a big help. I think I'm gonna just pick up a 3650 for the other boat. But a higher kv. It's a hornet that I was learning on. I had a leopard 3650 on it. With the 2290 kv. But let's just say I don't have it anymore. Long story. I think I'm gonna go up to the next kv rating. It was quick but not real quick. Thanks again.
My fault. The 3650 is 2290 kv. I'm thinking going to 2450 kvDoesn't matter, real or RC, boats are just a hole in the water where you throw your cash.
