    data logging

does anyone know of a data logger to read amp draw that goes higher than 150a? i cant seem to find one.

also, anyone know if bluetooth works through carbon fiber?

Eagletree can easily be modified to go to 300. You do need a decent meter to calibrate it when you are done.
No real idea about the bluetooth, I would think no or at a reduced range as it must be some kind of radio signal. Just guessing...
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

If you do a search you can find instructions here on how to modify a 150A Eagletree datalogger to 300A, or there are high power ESCs with datalogging built in like MGM Compro 160/250/280/400/800A, Castle Creations 200/240A, Swordfish Plus 200/300A.

Bluetooth operates via radio transmission on the 2.4ghz frequency band, as such carbon fibre will block most of the signal, also if your radio system is 2.4ghz one may interfere with the other, the flyboys keep there FPV gear well clear of 2.4ghz to avoid clashes.

Ahhhh yes forgot it's on 2.4 as well. Damn, I was thinking of making an arduino based ammeter. I could try n build it, found a ammeter to hook to arduino for 25$

There was a logger that I tripped upon on a euro site. Dang, I can't remember the name of it though.

          Found it: The Unilog http://www.rc-raceboats.de/shop/lng/...=N&language=en
and the 400 amp module http://www.rc-raceboats.de/shop/lng/...nsor-400a.html

My Eagletree mod passes 372 amps in my set ups, not constant but peak. The highest constant I have recorded is 243 amps on 8s 2p for 1:13 minutes.
I normally run about 200 amps average.

Is the mod a basic rewire of the connection for th eagletree v4? If so it's Def cheaper and easier than the arduino option. I'm trying to see where I stand on my twin 2028's before I really start propping up. And my castle 240hv esc do not data log.

If you are going to test with it and your not trying to impress the world with your numbers and you can follow my directions, just measure the wire loops carefully and solder on as shown. One of my club members bought a used one where the original owner figured he knew better and used wires that were at least 1/2" too short making it useless and probably out of calibration range. Make sure you use the same gauge wire as on the data logger.
