    MHZ cat info

I am thinking of buying this hull... MHZ Isiklar - 1085mm - 42,71"..Has anyone run this hull, and if so, how does it handle in rough water and does it corner well, or does the narrow beam rule that out? Any other quality hull considerations of 40"-45"

I did a search on this site and I see no info on running comments...watched a video on the MHZ German site, but the operator was really cautious in cornering/steering.

I can't really tell from the MHZ site pics but I believe it is a Dihedral design sponson is it not?
I would imagine it can be tuned for cornering. There is a vid on youtube of a HPR that seems to handle quite well. And they are REALLY not 'known' for that.

Hmm heres two. It handles corners OK, handles straight line OK, but will get annihilated by a mystic 114 in everything. I own two of them and they're cool hulls, sponsons I believe are 6mm wider than an hpr 115. I ran leopard 4082s 1600kv on 6s and with a seriously tuned prop got 82 mph, probably could get to 90 without an issue with the black one in the video but it needs more power.

Its a fun german cat, very good quality. I built them nicely with all matching wd200, mtc, mbp hardware and what not but if looking to go really fast and you're spending the money anyway, mystic 114. If you just want to chill and go 60, take turns, and just have a "different," boat, I can't think of a better boat.

^All 3 videos are of my 2 boats, the last video is when Ray owned it and had it setup more for oval, as you can see its no slouch around an oval course either.

Figured an outside shot was needed. MHZ has since stopped making the old school Isiklar. I ordered one last year, and this is what showed up. Same bottom but very different transom. I have to say it was a pleasant surprise to open the box and find an updated hull. As seen this is a carbon kevlar very strong layup as well.

Is it still the same topside? Looks cool. It's giving me evil thoughts of a twin 10s setup....

If you want a Cat in the 45" range that corners, look at the KBB 45 https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v...type=2&theater

The top is different it has been streamlined a bit. The old style hatch still fits though.

Thank you all for your comments, as some of you may know, I am a more of a sport boat runner, speed is not my thing but handling and quality are. Is the Isiklar a good candidate in the specified length range for my needs, or?

to be honest, not really. Its a cool hull for sure, I bring it to the lake and we run 3 other boats, hpr 115, 135, and mystic 138. The mystic and hprs all look in the same league when running. The isiklar does not.

I own 2 fast ones and even went through the trouble of having one custom made and spent a lot of $. The isiklar was my first FE boat and means a lot to me which I bought on here, I'm its third owner. I made it fast not because I felt it had the capability but because I owned it and its good for laughs, running a 20 year old design at 80-85 mph.

--I will say though running an old school boat and getting it tuned to run faster than anyone else has is quite rewarding. If you take it for what it is, you will NEVER leave the lake disappointed. Chrisg1983 on here and I run our big, expensive, SAW boats and its awesome, but racing oval with the isiklar against his 29" vac u pickle, we both agree is the most fun we've had at the lake. Even Ladislav the hull builder seems to have interest as he has one on display in his home.

Not worth it if you want performance. Worth it if you want to be different and unique. I hope this is helpful lol.
