How does this sound for a set up.

I have a Aro lap cat hull I was thinking about.
It's a gas hull with all speed master Hardwear.
How does this sound for a set up,
    Lep. 4092 1600 kv
    Sea king 180a controller
    4 or 6s lipos 4500 to 5000
Prop? Havnt got that far yet.

    Sound like a good setup?

What hull, no idea what a "aro lap cat" is? A gas hull means a gasoline ignition engine, so a large hull. Is it a Prather Lap Cat outboard? No mention of an outboard leg, just "speed master Hardware". Post a pic and dimensions to help us help you....

I have raced one for about five years, it is a great 6S hull. IMO it is really too small for good 4S performance. With the OP's motor and ESC he should start with an x448 and check temps often at first, then perhaps try an x450. CG @ 31 percent strut 3/8" above the table and flat to start with. Use a 3/16" cable. The more pack capacity you have the better.

I ran a 1527/1Y with a Kv of 1250, perfect for that hull. The 1600 Kv motor will work okay, it just needs a smaller prop to keep amps under control. If the OP has not purchased the motor yet, he should strongly consider a lower Kv like a TP 4060/1300. An even better choice is the HET 700-98/1170 motor, on 6S it will swing a huge prop.

The "classic" hatch is strongly recommended. It is easy to tape up and keep out the water. Not so the turbine cowl....

As just a novice I couldn't justify paying that much for the neu motor. Maybe in the future. Leopard is the way I usually go for now. What is a HET MOTOR. (Prob. A dumb question. And is it safe to use them with a Seaking 180a.
The cowl needs to be replaced. Since I used it for gas at one time, it's cut to get air through the motor. I also have another tunnel that I have no clue what make it is. I bought it with a .67, 11.1 KB ob on it. Used it until the connecting rod had a melt down. I was thinking that boat would be a prime candidate for electric.

              Its very similar to a Neu 1527(39mm x 102mm), HET(39mm x 98mm)

Leo also makes a 4092 1390kv MOTOR that would fit the bill,

That sounds good. And a Seaking 180 could handle it? Also I want to post some pics of this tunnel I have had for years. It's a toss up between a tunnel or sprint cat conversion. I'm not really into cats anymore. . I just might put it up for sale to fund the tunnel conversion. I'll start a new thread with pics. Or maybe edit the title and continue here.

Interesting, yep that combo would work with fluids prop suggestion. Would run cool and fit it budget, check temps run good pacs.
