Wasn't getting hardly any flow out of the aluminum water jacket on my motor, couldn't figure out why. Upon inspection, I found that, because I cranked the fittings down REAL tight to avoid those pesky, boat-filling leaks, [and probably over-compressed the rubber seals] the bottom of the fittings were sitting totally flush on the motor & restricting flow. The Cure : carefully dremeled, with a thin cut-off wheel some "teensy" notches on the threaded ends. Re-installed with some blue locktite for sealing, & no more restrictions.
