    Looking for a cheap boat

Hi guys I want to get a cheap twin hull boat. I have been looking at the Genesis, Apparition (single or twin motor), Super Surge Crusher. All sold at Hobby King. Has any body got any experience with either of the boats i listed or know of any other twin hull boats that are better but not overly expensive.

I personally don't care for HobbyKing's quality u get what u pay for. A twin
that works well is not going to be cheap. U can build a fast single. With good parts any of boats listed
Makes a fast single for a better hull a river cat
By fighter cat is like the apparition but can get it in cf
Check kfxguy build he clocked his at 97.5 mph

        HobbyKings boats are TFL.

I have 2 Apparitions in twin form, They now come with a counter set up too. They are great value for what you get. Just reenforce the battery tray & motor mount with some good epoxy and you will be right.

Genesis is a nice Cat too but the Apparition is a better hull from what I here. Surge Crusher is more of a fun boat and goes well in smaller places.

Why do people post a question and never return for a reply?

Maybe he's giving it some soak time.

He may have given up. Some guys expect a dozen replies within minutes like some of the other forums. He's probably on another forum getting advice on how to spend his money from a twelve year old!! Kidding aside, it's more likely a fourteen old:-D I hope he makes it back here. I have been reading some pretty crazy advice being given out there

Thanks for the help guys. I might have a look around abit more. I love the fighter cat carbon fiber hulls but i like the apparition because it seems pretty good and not to expensive. Im not looking for anything crazy because its just for fun not racing. As long as it can keep up with my 6s spartan.

Mad Racer. How do the apparition twin motor setup go. Is yours stock. Does the one at hobbyking come setup as counter rotating now.

For a cheap cat, they don't come much cheaper that these. But they do need a bit of work to get them flying. Like replace motor & stuffing tube & driveline. And blueprint the ride pads.

I set this one up with twin SSS4074 2200kv motors & it took out the honours this year against Cheetahs, Genesis, Apparition, etc, in our 4s class.

This one, i set up on both 6s & 4s single drive & it was impressive enough to convince me to run it in both our 4s & 6s cat class next year, with just a motor & prop swap between race days.

This one might be worth a try too.

But like I said. They need a bit of work. And the gel coat tends to crack after a couple of runs. No biggie. I just wick some thin CA glue into them & sand flush.

                    Well you did say cheap.

                    Merry Christmas.

The Apparition comes with a counter set up and stronger 4 pole SSS motors. ( Well the one I saw at our Boondal club did)

They are pretty good with two 3S packs strapped in. They come with a counter set up and stronger SSS 4 pole motors.

It's a TFL boat so the usual l finishing off is needed. Add some more epoxy on the battery tray and motor mounts.
