Here is a question for you guys who run and build twin cats: for the reverse rotation prop, reverse cable is a no-brainer but are there any reverse collets? I am looking at 5mm - .150 sized ones, where can I find them?
I think Kintec had them. Not sure whom else. Really not necesary though unless possibly in a drag hydro kind of setup… I have none of them in my fleet and never had an issue.
Tim
if you find some I have the left handed wrench you need for them.
Happy Holidays
Thank you Jeff!
Will see what is down the road, like Shawn said, Kintec has the 5mm - .187 in reverse config. but at the moment my slated build would not need that thick of a cable.
Happy Holidays to you!
Kintec does sell some. I use them just because, however I've never had an issue before them.
Thanks Joel, do you mean they have 5mm - .150 as well? I sure didn't see it on the site. Anyway, guess for my boat it is not going that fast so it wouldn't matter...

Looks like just 3/16''. Is this for the Intruder? I would just run 3/16'' shafts unless you have the .150 already.

I agree with Shaun. They are not really necessary.
I've set up & run a few twin cats & have never had a problem with using standard collets on both sides.

Thank you for chiming in.
I am totally ignorant when it comes to twin cats, so I just assumed all this time you guys have the right turn collets.
It is good to know that it is not necessary after all.
I am still getting every little details sorted out in my head, last when I asked a question I put someone in sleep mode ( Doby), so I am careful not to ask too many stupid questions for now.
I can't ever recall reading a stupid question from you Tim.
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask & wish that you did, while you are replacing a burnt out motor & ESC.
