    38.5" delta force 45 - I I vee hull power setup.

This is what I plan on for my boat. First time builder so please give me feedback on setup. Swordfish 240 esc, 1527 neu castle 1250 kv 8mm shaft, spektrum mr200 reciever, Sport Bec external bec, spektrum A6150 hv waterproof servo, hypirion 3s 2p lipos, Radio - Spektrum dx3c... Between the motor and esc will be 8 mm bullet connectors. The esc lipo lead will be set up to run series and have 6.5 mm castle creations Connectors. I think I've mentioned everything please let me know otherwise.

    Thanks

That should be a pretty healthy realiable set up, sounds great to start. And if you really wanted to fly you could jump up to 8s on that set up.

I have used the 1527/1250 in the 39" DF on 6S and 8S. That said the same boat with a 1520/1600 Castle performs very well. I also have run a 1521 Neu 1.5D/1900kv which turned out to be the fastest around a course. All good setups. For everyday running I like the 1600kv which seems the most simple and efficient. Your hardware choices will be just fine.

What kind of speed were you getting on 6s with you're 39" DF Mic?

Top speed hasn't been a priority, setup was targeted for six lap heats and two lap time trials. Two lap IMPBA record was set at 26.85seconds with a 44.85mph average and I assume we ran 56-58 in the straights. In six lap trim I believe we radar about 54mph. I don't think mid 60's would be out of line with more prop. We set the record with the 1521/1900kv and an m545 prop. More battery and larger props might do better but I like the handling spooling up smaller wheels.
