LoL , Yoda spoken he has.
Just checked my f/g "Daytona" hatch (what's left of it anyway) on my c/f Daytona and it's the same. Sucks you had to spend money for us to find out the genesis hatch is different. Maybe they had to change something for legal mumbo jumbo, not that that matters to them over there...

It doesn't seem to odd. They may have had to change the top deck some to get the carbon fiber to lay and look good, hence the squarer corners. It's funny that I have seen what were supposed to be white gelcoated daytona hatches used as replacements on the genesis.
I wouldn't be surprised if tfl is making good the boats in separate factories. The genesis hull I got from hobby king is an absolute disgrace from a laminating perspective. I was going to do a full twin build on it but it's not worth the effort. There was no fiberglass in the transom, nothing. I went through considerable trouble remaking the transom on it. I accidentally dropped it on sponson tip and two large sections can away in chunks on the ground. The tip was nothing but resin for the last inch or more. The other tip proved to be the same. The inside was also a mess of bubbles and crap. The rear section with the overhang was just a mess.
The fiberglass daytona seem to be reasonably well done from a laminating perspective according to what I have read and heard from guys that have them. The hull I got was far to bad to just have been made on a bad day by someone. I will fix the hull and make it strong and pretty but it's not going to be a twin. I am buying a daytona after Christmas and hopefully end up with something worth doing! So in my opinion the quality of the two two boats differs greatly as well.Comment

Yeah,
I use tape on mine and do not have a problem as I run a FiberGlass hatch with the rounded corners for my GPS runs.Lot Boyz Racing and Marine Team...Get Hype!
