Hull size for Neu, Fiegao, KB45 motors

Someone asked about motor selections for hull sizes. I am trying to create a general guideline for the motors OSE sells. I know it is hard for this to cover all selections, since FE setups can be complex and extend over a wide range of extremes. Remember this is more for conservative setups to help new guys get started. Your input would be appreciated.

Do you guys think an SV or Proboat motor will push up to a 32 inch hull safely without to much heat? Has anyone run this setup? Do you think 29 inches should be the conservative maximum length?

          Blane,

First, thank you for this list.

Secondly, The SV27 package is very comfortable in an 29" plastic Electro V hull on 12 cells. In fact, it hauls! I think that in a heavier 29" deep V, FG hull it would start to be near the top of its safe range. Of course, lighter builds would be the exception.

Just an old man's 2 cents...

Blane, very good info. The hard part is the number of turns on the motors and as you state without all the specifics, no can do. This will at least point people to select a motor that is suitable for their hull !! and then discuss their aims..sport or racing, power etc.
            Well done Sir.

This is supposed to categorize FE motors into weight, size and heat limitations, by hull size.

Johnnyoverkill, I changed the SV - Proboat motors to a 29 inch limit.

              Thanks for the input guys.

Will an Ammo 2300 push up to a 29 inch hull safely without to much heat or should i change it to 27?

I added the Fiegao 380 L motor that is for micro hulls.

It could also be an upgrade motor for the cheap entry level boats you can buy from Ebay.
