They make a cooler for 20mm motors that has a spiral machined on the inside wall of the cooler. Too bad no one has made one for the larger motors.
Does the water come in contact with the skin of the motor can at all? I mean does the water only travel "INSIDE" the spiral channels or the spiral channels are only there to "assist" the swirling of the water?
I think that makes a difference on the over all cooling ability....

Ray, that is EXACTLY what I was talking about. Water is in direct contact with the motor, only it follows the spiral grooves. Much more efficient than what we use today.
