The majority of the frame is made out of 1/2" PVC and I use 3/4"x 1/2" reducing adapters to connect the frame cross member to the 3/4" 4 way cross. You could use 3/4" PVC for the whole frame if you wanted to. I just used 1/2" because it appears to be strong enough for the frame and lighter. I used the 3/4" PVC for the motor and outdrive mounts just for a little extra strength.

This nice thing about building out of PVC is you can modify the design for your application very easily. This can be scaled larger or smaller depending on the size of your fleet.
I am thinking about making another rescue boat that will employ a lift to rescue partially submerged boats as well. That one will be quite a bit more involved though.
Good luck on your build. This rescue boat has given me a lot more confidence when I am pushing my FE boats to the edge, because I know I can get them back to shore quickly when I have gone too far.

The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

not much of a problem, most of us have extra radio gear lying around. loose the net and add an arm or 2 and raise the front bar and its about perfect
