i think it's the wrong choise for a rescue boat :surface drive speedboat
better to use a hull with fully submerged prop , low reving
something like a tug
I used the motor and esc from a shockwave to power mine. Runs on 2s. Big prop and big rudder. That shockwave rudder isn't going to cut it. Here's pics of mine so you get an idea (rudder has been changed since)

You CAN you your esc, it will be just fine. The steerable out drive in nice as well. I use the whole boat for mine, been using it for yrs. now with no problem.

The steerable outdrive works very well on the rescue boat because when you catch a dead boat they do not always line up straight when you push them back and makes it drag hard one way
i attached a 10 m rope with a piece foam at the end on a rescue boat ,tow that behind the resue boat
you cirkle around the stranded boat ;the rope will always "grap" something ,like the rudder/turnfins or antenna when boat has flipped, and then you can pull the boat in
much easier ,when the boat is far away ,then pushing
i am lucky have a neighbor that has a full wood shop next door. i have built the bottom half of a tug was going to use the esc which will run 3 s. and use pvc to make a the catch forks. the 1500 kv motor i am using on a different boat since it will run 6 s but after seeing the hole boat used i think i have a change of heart just replacing the motor in the hull and adding the pvc forks for pick up

I added one of these to my tug (and my drone) just in case they sink. It automatically deploys a float with a 100' line. Cool idea meant for fishing rods.
