Go to a PC parts store and find some older models in their junk bin.

Then convert it, and you can usually do the whole deal for less than $20.

I just converted a 550w atx ps that puts out 30 amps at 12.2 volts. So far I have only charged nimh cells at 3 amps to test it out. The temps are good and the 10 ohm/10watt resister stays under 100f. I already had the ps and spent 12.00 on the parts.
