    Abandonded ship

tO ANYONE I got this cool v hull I got at a warehouse sale its called Exceed Vyper but looks also like a Dragon v24 . anyways its a log on 3cells but fun on 4, misfortune struck and there was a fire well more smoke than anything else, It is such a cool boat and handles smartly, I want this boat, looking for someone who has had this and or knows a mod that will work Motor ,esc, It comes with a prop. through the rudder, which I hear isn't the best , But will entertain all suggestions, and or comments. Thanks

Seems like it runs fairly well for an inexpensive boat based on the vid i saw on NitroRCX. Sure is a wicked lookin bugger! Your limiting factor may be the drive system witht the Teflon Tube insert bending for turns, maybe not. At 2600kv on 3s you are in a nice rpm zone in stock form.

Upgrade suggestions would be a Turnigy 120a ESC ($49)

    A 3674 2200 kv motor -http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17701__XK3674_B_2200KV_Brushless_Inrunner_19T_.h tml

and an Octura x640, maybe an x642 on 4s

Hey thanks for info. I found the Dragon v24 Is the same boat. I would need the prop. shaft that would fit with the rudder strut combination or a complete do over. There are similar boats out there, but I found very few mods. I am hoping someone with this particular boat, has done a mod. thanks

The Ocke Mannerfelt batboats are a great offshore raceboat design fullsize, and the performance does scale well. The Graupner batboat used to be very popular for racing over here, and while some of the purpose designed model racing boats have moved things on, they are still a great boat for fun running in all conditions. I know someone that converted one of the dragon hobby batboats to Mono2 spec from semi toy grade, and it sees time on the oval when it is rough, despite him having several "proper" race boats.

You may notice that it has a very narrow beam at the waterline despite the large quoted beam dimensions (across the wings), the narrowness is one of the things that makes it great in the rough but it also means that they don't like big props (the full size ones use a Volvo outdrive with contra-rotating props on a single shaft.

You can convert it to a stinger and rudder system as an option. In the long run it would be better then the odd stock system.

          Stinger: (3/16) http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...os-stinger-str

          Rudder: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80050

You may need a 3/16 brass tube and teflon liner, not sure what is inside that baby

You may also want to consider this motor, great reviews from Paul, he said it's a beast(785boats), comes with a jacket too.

OK and the flex shaft that will accommodate the 3/16 stinger you suggested???...ok ...OK how embarrassing... can you just make it ez for this old plane guy with #1.=,#2=' #3=,.....ect flex shaft ,battery(s), prop, stinger, rudder, so all I have to do is order this stuff, and build it.. I got GA-GAC-CULLS of rc plane knowledge but here new to all this boat stuff, I feel like a guy at a dance ,that has the dance steps painted on the floor and between looking down at floor and stepping on myself I am still trying to have a good time Oh I also run a AquaCraft UL1 w/ L40x57 prop. Swordfish120esc. on 4cell. So boat life isn't all that bad......may have questions on this later....

Coming here may have saved you alot of money, folks here have already been thru the trial and errors and learned from it. I blew up a bunch of stuff at first.

You will need this: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...rass-tb&cat=70 Get 2 feet of it and cut to fit.

The stinger I mentioned in post 3

The rudder I mentioned in post 3

You will also need a 3/16 flex cable with shaft and I dont see any offered here?????? I may be missing the page or something.

Do not skimp on Batts!! Get at least 40c 2s 5000's, get 4 if you can so you will have two runs each time out. You probably know, but you put one on each side of the hull to balance and hook them in series for 4s. Use 5.5mm bullet connectors too. Boats pull alot of amps and build up heat quickly.

Just to make sure this is the 37" version right??????

The Nano's have always been hit or miss based on reviews i have seen from real boaters.

If the hull length is 31" then the motor/ESC combo i posted will get it some great speed.
