    Best Cat for running fast

I am considering setting up a single engine cat on 6s for my next boat. What are your recommendations for the best hull to use and rigging suggestions? I would like to see 70+mph out of the setup.

Can this be done with a single 6s setup?

I'm thinking the same thing for a winter project. However, I can't decide what hull I want. It's between the 32" rivercat and the 37" shocker SAW hull.

The Shocker is simply an arrow on the water. Mine was awesome at straight out speed. Rivercat/Fantasm has been great thus far as well but the Shocker has the look

I agree with the Shocker. Plenty of room in the sponsons for twins and enough room for a big single. I love mine.

What about turning ? Wider is better. I don't know if that is more important than just ripping a hole in the air. I do like these fighter cat very much though, and they do a very good job at going fast no doubt

The re will always be a compromise. Fast straight and not turn so well or not so fast straight but turn well.....unless it's a rigger lol. I'm sure there's an exception here or there but for the most part if you have an 80+mph boat....it's not gonna turn well at that speed. Slow it down a bit and use a longer rudder and it becomes a little more manageable. Maybe do like I'm doing...have some different length rudders and swap them out depending on what your doing. He could do a cheetah (one of my favorite hulls btw) and it will turn well and he could get 60 mph or so out of it. I have a plan like that for my cheetah except a little faster. It's gonna take some work tho

For a single 6s setup and 70+ I would be looking at a rivercat or a Sprintcat

It has been my experience that above 60 keeping a hull 'on rails' is very difficult. We may be able to push that number a bit, but so far this is my findings.
Most of the racers rarely go above 60 anyway.

For the best cat to run fast and turn awesome I put my money on the Aeromarine Team Believer with updated hatch. It's the 36" Sprintcats half brother. It's a small big boat with tons of room. It will handle 70 with ease all day long. This is the electric version with no rails and has been built light with extra glass in all the right spots, it is a serious cat that is very easy to build because it has tons of room in it. That's a 56mm motor in one of the sponsons. I'm planning on making it a 16000mah 6s sport boat as of now anyway lol

I currently have a mean machine... same bottom of the hull. Would my hull handle 6s well and run 70mph? I run a 4s setup now with 3" rudder.

Your mean machine is different. The bottoms change when you get away from there 29" boats. Rumdog is talking about a 36". Mean machine or it's half brother the .20 sprintcat is not a good 70 mph boat....

Ok, I thought he meant a bigger boat.

Where do you guys buy these hulls to run 70+mph?
