will paint stripper harm the wood on my boat? or the epoxy sealant layers?

The wood no....the epoxy will probably soften and be damaged.....sanding the paint is the best method of removal.

if you read the fine print most say they will harm fiberglass (and I assume epoxy). There are some that will not
