Newbe With HK Genesis Needs Opinions

Hello Everyone, New to this Part or R/C but Hooked Already, Lot's Cheaper then My 16ft airboat w/468 BBC. Started with a Traxxas Villain IV I found in the back of the Local Shop. Next was a Proboat Impulse 31, Fast for a stock Boat! Now I have a Genesis coming from HK a Seaking 180 coming from OSE and venom 14.8 5000Mah Lipo's from the local shop. I have a X447 from The Villain. From what I have learned on Here (a LOT!) I think I'm good for A start. Any and All Comments Appreciated. Henry

Henry, welcome to the addiction ... I have a Genesis that so far I've got 80 mph out of, its a fun boat to play with. First thing strip the guts and line the hull with CF, the hull is thin and will torque twist...Soon as you can change over to the upgraded flexshaft,strut and rudder offset...this upgrade really makes a big diff...Those T-180 esc's are great ! and can handle 1,000 amp spikes...a 447 on 4S is a good starting point, if you go 6S then a step down to around 44-45mm prop that has been s/b is a must...hope this helps, most of all have fun...DJ
