can I use 2 left turn props on a Zonda cat?

The Gas twin Hydro guys do it oout of simplicity so they can run both IC engines the standard CCW rotation.
I asked a gent at 50Point why they did this and thats what he said. I said doesn't this cause prop walk or toque effects to make it turn right and he said yes but, he makes constant left corrections and has to be gentle while making a right turn or it can spin out.
These guys seemed to have it down pretty good. Try it out, the smaller the prop the less it's effected.Nortavlag Bulc

We have a guy in our club that races an Apparition with both the props spinning the same way. It's fast & handles ok for a small cat.
A bigger boat with bigger props & more prop torque would probably be a different kettle of fish though.
Can't help with the prop sizes. Sorry. Never had a Zonda.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Well......his threads do get old with the same questions being asked and then him posting random videos of his boat in them. I think everyone kinda gave up on helping him. I don't blame them either.
Op, let me give you some advice. People have given you advice in your other threads. There's no magical prop that's going to sky rocket your boat into an oval racing orbit. The truth is, you have to experiment. Start off small and go up from there checking your Temps as you go. That's what I'm doing. I started off in the 60's and now I'm in the 80's working my way up to the 90's. Sometimes a prop that make the other guys boat go really fast makes yours go slower. You never know till you try. The best money I've spent so far is a fiberglass hatch and a gps. Looking at how fast it is or sounds tell you nothing. I found that out the hard way. Start off with x442 props and move up from there. Like I've told you before, you'll probably end up with 45 or 47mm props. Don't think you can just jump to that either. Take my advice, start small.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

I guess n one has the same set up in the same boat.
If it were me, & you want a guestimate, I'd start with M445 & work up from there.
But you didn't even give us the motor size & type or make. That leaves out a lot of info.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

I've been running nitro twins(riggers) for years with no overveer because there is a specific set up for everyboat.Of course you can run two left props but be sure to have everything straight before testing it .If your boat has a right tendency this can be corrected with offsetting the drives to left....don't know if this is possible in a Zonda cat.Another important thing to be considered is have props carefully sharpened and balanced. As previously said you have to try all possibilities starting always with small props.GillGO FAST AND TURN RIGHT !

Ill do that. Thanks, ill keep that in mind. Im going to make another run with props spinning inward to see if it picks up speed that way. If not, ill return it to props spinning out. Then I got more props to try. For the record, im still on TP4050 1730KV NEW 180ESC 6s . Thats the setup for each side. Im sending my(6) 220 ESC back for repair.Last edited by rude5150; 08-06-2014, 09:24 AM.Comment
