    4mm to 3mm coupler?

Hello all. One of my boats has a 4mm moter shaft, and a 3mm flex cable. I cant seem to find a collet for this size combination. The current setup holds the flex cable in by tightening two bolts. This works, but i have lost many flex cables and props. Any advice or suggestions for a stronger hold?

Do you mean 4mm to 3/16" flex ?. if so it's a standard size and available everywhere...

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that 3mm was equivalent to 3/32 of an inch, and also you would need a coupler with this measurement to fit correctly. Am i mistaken? Kintec told me thats what size coupler i would need, and i cant find one either there or here.

I guess before we can going further you need to know what kind of project you're working on what kind of boat do you have, what motor, where did you buy your flex shaft ?. Also. What strut, prop & size stuffing tube or stinger are you running. as always some good pictures of your boat and your setup would be appreciated ...

Wildcat ep. 3mm flex to 1/8 in shaft. Not sure of stinger or stuffing cable. 42 mm prop i believe. 2860 leopard, 120a seaking. I run it on 4s. Go ahead and chuckle, but i had a good time upgrading this boat. Once i figure out how to post pics i will display some.

4mm motor to 3mm flex is an odd size & you will find it difficult to find this size in a collet type coupling. Kintec Racing have 4mm to 1/8" .125", the 1/8" will tighten down ok & hold the 3mm flex ok. Personally I have 5mm to 1/8" on 3mm flexes & they work fine.

              3 mm is .118" 1/8" = .125" .007" slack. Martin says it works.
Jeff Wholtz could make you one.

3mm? Are you sure? I think that your flzx sgaft is 3,2mm or 1/8'' if you prefer.

You will find easily this collet coupler size http://kintecracing.com/Collets_Couplers.html

That's what kintec told me, that it was a 3mm. I've never measured it. I would imagine the 1/8 inch would work. Thanks again for all of the helpful info.

A lot of the small Chinese boats use 3mm flexes & not 3.2mm ie Joysway,Dragon Hobby,Nitrorcx, most use the set screw type couplings that destroy the flex end. I believe Jeff wohlt makes custom set screw type couplings & not collet type couplings.

That is the same coupling that Kintec racing sells.
