Need help to secure 4s 6000mha dinogy batteries.

you stated in a thread that you run your strut 3/16 off the table. kfxguy in this thread stated he is getting best results with strut lower than table. i guess what my question is: can you take 2 different props and lower the strut with the smaller prop and raise the strut with the bigger strut and obtain the same results? another words, different hulls require different strut adjustments depending on how much hull lift the boat has?

The strut setting will depend on a number of things.
Hull design
Hull speed
Prop lifting characteristics
Prop setback from sponson transoms
CG
Etc.

For example my MC likes the strut bottom to be level with the sponsons. My SprintCat 60/80 likes it from 3/8" to 3/4" above the sponsons depending on the prop and speed. My MM likes it about 3/16". You just have to try different settings, sometimes it seems counterintuitive. Using the builds of others with the same hull and similar speeds as a reference helps....but always do some experimenting since the other guy's setup may not be optimal. Like any boat, the setup is key to success, something most seem to overlook. That's why one guy can be a lot faster than another with the same hull and gear.

I am running a TP 4060 6200 watt 4pole 1440kv 4y with a 400amp ESC from FDM. On 8s 65c batteries. I couldn't get it over 3/4 throttle without it blowing over. It would blow over at around 75mph. Since the the run i made yesterday my new GPS speed is 85.7mph with same set up. I way go to 10s to get to 100mph. But I will take it slow . I want to go As far as I can on 8s first.

So you picked up 10 mph...that's awesome. What changes did you make to pick up 10mph? Any videos? Very impressive speed!

I do have a different boat but I w as making a point......sometimes it helps to do things you think would slow you down. Helps to experiment. ..

The whole problem I was having was it was a new scratch build and I have been doing a lot of adjusting with the same results. As soon as I got over 3/4 throttle which was around 75mph. The boat would go air born do about three sumersalts. I started this thread because was having to move the batteries so far forward to offset the CG. So up until the other day is never able to achieve full throttle pass. So I really didn't pick up 10mph. I just made the boat stick in the water by adjusting the strut down and moving the batteries back by 2-1/2". Now I can use the full potential of the set up with out blowing over at 75mph. I Do have some video's I will load them when I get back to my house

In the OP's case, lowering the strut caused more lift at the transom, which helped to plant the bows. Even the same hull can need different strut settings. A few years ago a guy on OSE was running a RiverCat on 10S at a claimed 100 mph with the strut about even with the sponsons. My SkunkWorks cat (a clone of the RiverCat which is a clone of the H&M Agitator) on 6S needed the strut raised about 3mm to run loose enough at 90 mph, otherwise it plowed terribly. You adjust the strut as the boat tells you to.
