I placed an order few weeks ago. Noticed that I left something out. Tried calling the number on their paypal to speak to someone directly, no no avail. I ended up e-mailing them about adding onto the order, but then decided I would find what I needed locally and e-mailed back. Within an hour I got a notification about my order being shipped and arrived in 2 days. Agree with the comments on customer service, but my parts came.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kintec Racing! March to September is a long wait though... To tell the truth I feel better about ordering some stuff from Jan (Sorry Steve). He got back to me today, he did wright me a pretty long explanation. Essentially he had email server problems along with some other stuff that builds up to it. I actually feel pretty bad for filing a claim, I don't even feel like it's my money.....

I think Jan is in over his head to be honest. I don't have any hard feelings with him so he will see at least one order from me again. A lot of people get PISSED at Jan but a lot of people need to realize that he is not Amazon and actually has a life.

Did a pretty big order through Kintec a month or so back. Some of the motor mounts etc Jan has are really good products. I got every last item I ordered. I've ordered stuff from him from time to time over the last few years and have never had an issue. The 'trouble with email' thing has been said by him before on many occasions though.....which is not a dig. Just saying. What I'll also say is he's still got my support. My orders have all come without issue. Not as fancy a service as some offer in terms of updates and order progress etc etc but the stuff arrives.

I can't offer explanation for the experiences of others. Can see where people are coming from if their items don't arrive though.

He should probably automate his shopping cart a bit.

I would not doubt if it takes him that much longer to manage inventory, and orders, etc... when he must do most things manually by hand. But if he had an actual (modern) shopping cart for starters I think that would make everyone happier and the order process a bit smoother. Like, if something is not in inventory or order is backordered-- he can write a note in his cart for that order, which would therefore automatically notify you about it, etc. Or easier and accurate inventory management-- where the cart would show if things actually in-stock or not on the page.

He does have a no stock system where if the odering button is missing for that item, it means he has no stock. Whether that's a manual update or not I don't know. You buy something from OSE and you see the remaining stock altered straight away. I also get the impression the Kintec website is a bit archaic for what it really needs to do now. Jan has a ton of really good stuff there and if it's all manually managed it really must be a nightmare. The current site really feels like an old solution that's been overextended and modded to cope with bigger workloads and certain problems like people ordering when there's zero stock. Many online sales sites have had to upgrade their websites when their businesses start to take off, it's just what has to be done to make it all workable. Would cost money I'm quite sure. But spending money on a business is part of being *in* business. But yeah.... it is what it is and Jan runs it as he sees fit I suppose. Can't fault him for at least getting some of that stuff out there.

That sums the whole thing up....
He is a good guy but I have a feeling he is not bothered by a bit of negative write up here. This is not his main business.
( not trying to defend for him, but this is the conclusion that I have come up with)
For those who have been paying attention here, just make your own choice......

That's just add to cart buttons pointing to paypal with product descriptions. Anyways, it'd be pretty easy to switch to some mildly useful inventory management + shopping cart... he prob can hire someone to whip something up for a few hundred bucks if anything. It's probably just not that important to him, or -- "if its not broken, don't fix it". What does he have... a few hundred unique items... at most? Yea it's not much. Realistically its a small and super simple business... possibly a side business... you press the order button -- it ships out in a few days and the prices are decent. If you don't like what you got just return it. Amazon surely doesn't know what you're buying-- or would give you any sort of technical advice on the stuff you're buying, right? Maybe he just needs to put this in big bold letters on his site to lower people's expectations a bit: "DON'T EXPECT A SUPER FAST EMAIL RESPONSE. I AM BUSY AS HELL"

I would prob blame it on those guys that buy $13 dollars worth of product and demand first class service... That would stress the hell out of anyone and would be really time consuming. He DOES answer emails though. It just takes him some time to get through it. Maybe send him a couple just to make sure he sees it... perhaps he's selective. On my 2nd or 3rd emails he would reply some days later.

I would suggest that he at very least should hire a Virtual Assistant from say... the Philippines or India for like some bucks per hour. Have him learn the TFL inventory/product pdf from and back, and he will be good to go to answer all the emails... with tracking #'s and everything!

Outsourcing to the Philippines is a popular choice and there are dozens of virtual assistant companies. We've reviewed them all for you here!

Only issue for me with Kintec is that if there is a item missing or not available, he will hold the order until he can ship it with everything. Unfortunately, he doesn't tell you that he is doing that until you realize your order hasn't shipped after 4 days.

However, that doesn't happen often, and I have been quite happy with is products and service.

I read this post Friday night so I made a order Friday night at 11:00 pm For parts from kintec because they are only place I could find what I needed and they are fast also to see "what's going on with kintec". I got it today at 1:00 (Monday). Every time I make a order they are fast. I give them two thumbs up or five stars for speed and carrying hard to find part for are hobby.
