Got two loose thread that i removed from flex shaft, could i use it?

    Hello.
When i mount the flex cable into the motor coupler i got two threads wires loose, i just drag them off all the way to not get sharp edges on the flex, but could i use it? Have ordered a new but it going to take a couple of weeks before it arrive..
I have bend it and it seems to be strong but im unsure if it could be a risk to the boat to use it, maby it would vibrate? Maby its only littlebit weaker with two less wires, anyone know or have experience with it?

Here is a couple of pics.
    Thanks for answers :)

Edit: it is a 4.76mm 185 long shaft for the tfl smash shark/outerlimits

This is exactly why I solder the motor end of the flex shaft.

More importantly, I would address the area the flex is getting EXTREMELY hot. You have a dis-colored area that shows you have more issues than the flex unraveling.

I would suggest replacing and figuring out why it's getting hot! You would be using this at your own risk.

    Good luck,
    Mike

Hi Mike, yes that heat issue on the flex shaft happen before, i went home and regrease it and use it one more time before it got two loose thread when i plug it in to the coupler.

I have also looked for why it get hot at the burned spot on it.
The boat is new, i have run it 3 times without issue. Before the next run before it got hot i added a lot og traxxas grease. I used to mutch i think but that could not be the issue? Also adjust the strut a bit lower.

It also looks like it is in center on the plastic tube, i cant understand why it get hot, the hot place is at the end of plastic tube before the motor coupler. I would post a pics so you could see it mounted to the boat.
The big question is why it got hot, as i say the 3 first time have worked fine, but after that this happend and i have not make any adjustment or something other than i used to mutch grease on it.
The plastic tube is not melted eighter, that is strange..

I have adjust the motor a bit down so the flex goes straigt on the motor coupler, i guess this was the problem that the motor was mounted littlebit to high up.

What could happen if i run with the flex like it is on the pics?
The case is that i have a new on the way, but something holds back on the shipping so its going to take a few weeks.
Im leaving soon to a vacation where we have a place to run rc boats and its real boring if i coulnt use it.
I dosnt want to try it if it could make damage to the boat.
Could the other thread be loose and cut up my driveline or hull?
Maby its out of balance and it would vibrate?
Just tryed it on my bech with low trottle and its seems fine but who would know how is works in the water with full trottle.

          Thanks for reply :)
