Rust means your motor got in touch with water so you have to waterproof carefully your boat .Corrosion X is what I've been using for years.Gill

You should be able to find some? I guess I was lucky to find 2 cans of the original Corrosion Block at a LHS. Check for similar products from a Marine supply store in your area. Funny how a friend of mine was doing direct marketing for Corrosion Block about 10 years ago when it first came out in Canada and now it's un-obtanium?

Clean out with WD 40 let sit, check for brown rust from bearings, replace if required, spray it out again and then clean out with 99% isopropyl Alcohol and re-lube bearings

If you have let it sit after it got wet most likely there is a buildup of rust inside the motor on the stator plates that would require a complete dis-assemble of motor to use a toothbrush to get most of the brown rust off the inside.
