    Carbon Fiber Cheetah build. Hardware?

Hey guys, I'm starting a build on a carbon fiber cheetah. Can you guys point me in the right direction as to what hardware I should be looking for? This will be a single build using a 1717 1650kv motor. Any tips and guidance is welcome. Thanks

Use a x447 prop. You can use the universal strudder from ose or kintec for 35" cats. Get a 6.25" long rudder tho or it will spin around on you. You can also do a seperate strut and rudder system too. I have a fightercat strut that will work on that hull in my misc for sale thread. Then you just get a rudder and mounting bracket. Savox blue waterproof servo. I don't know what esc to recommend but maybe a t180 or something.

What esc should I use for the 1717? The swordfish 240 seems to be out of stock right now. Will the swordfish 200 be sufficient enough?

Im not a fan of swordfish esc's so ill recomment a seaking or turnigy 180. I had a fightercat 101 in mine which ive been told is 100a....although i dont beleive that. If you must go with a swordfish, a 220 should be fine. mine ran well with an x447/3 prop also.

Cool, yeah I'm not dead set on a swordfish esc. So you think the seaking 180 will handle the 1717 on 6s? Worth a shot I guess...lol

I know someone who has one on a 1717 in a daytona. So yea I think it will hold up. I have one on a 1520 in my rivercat too.

I just got done building one of these. The biggest challenge was finding a strut that was deep(long) enough to work. I ended up using this:
              http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...os-SPDS-013-SK
I used progressively smaller diameter copper tubes to get it to handle a 3/16" drive shaft.

              Another club member used this:
              http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...s-spds-007-008

The only way he got this to work is by bolting it on very low on the transom. He did this by putting a wood backer and then tap and die a screw into it with epoxy to avoid the use of nuts since there is not enough room on the bottom. This appears that it will work, but barely makes it. There are several good build write ups on this particular boat in the boat building section.

I have a Sea King 180 on my 1717 and she pushs it very nicely with highest temp of 122 degrees over 5 prop changes to see what worked best. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE SWORDFISH 220Pro + with data logging, Too many bad experiences and not much positive feedback on this forum! Trust me, you really need to go the SeaKing way........ Steven at OSE has some in Stock for nice price ( new license name is Leopard 180).

Thanks guys! Since I already have a sk180 I use that then. Thanks for confirmation. Now off to hunt for that x447/3
