    Another Dumb question - Radios

How come some radio/receivers sets cost $25 and some cost $450? Both of them are 2.4 gig. The expensive one (Sanwa/Airtronics M12 Telemetry 2.4GHz FHSS-4T 4CH Surface Radio System with RX-471 Receiver) is four channel and the cheap one (Quanum 2.4Ghz 3ch Pistol Grip Tx & Rx System) is three channel.

A few things you may be paying for:

      - longer range
      - multiple model memory
      - more adjustable features (exponential, servo speed, etc.)
      - faster response time
      - better ergonomics
      - rechargeable battery
      - better reliability
      - etc.

Longer range less interference imo thats what you pay for and some features that are very helpful.

Futaba 3 pm-x imo is the ultimate radio, I have run a lot of different radio systems and the range is just incredible. I send a $4,000 boat so far out to sea before doing a SAW pass and it works every single time, couldn't be happier with it. I think they can be had for 180$ on ebay, best 180$ I ever spent.
