    Roger Newton

    Guys,

I just heard that Roger Newton suffered a heart attack over the weekend while he was in Tri-Cities, but he thought it was heat stroke and wasn't admitted until Monday night. Apparently they tried to install a stint, but it was unsuccessful and he's in ICU right now possibly waiting on a bypass surgery.

Send some positive energy his way and keep him in your thoughts...

    Here is an update
Roger is in the Hospital at Valley General. He had a heart attach that was diagnosed about 6pm last night . There is some severe blockage. He is stable in CCU as of 1 am this morning. Place him in everyone's prayers. My feeling is that they will most likely do a bypass, as the blockage did not allow them to open up the affected vessels with angioplasties procedures. I would think that he may not be able to have visitors for at least today, but who knows for sure.

He's the CZar of Scale RC boat racing as we know it. I believe he is one of the founding fathers of RCU, as well as E-RCU. He IS RC Hydroplanes, and Scale is his middle name...

For those who dont know him, he is a icon in both rc boating and real hydroplane racing. He is a great person. We are all pulling for him!!

I just read a post from Jerry Dunlap on International Waters that Roger's heart isn't responding as well as they had hoped it would after the bypass surgery he had a couple of days ago. They have transported him to the University of Washington Medical Center for "another heart procedure". Jerry said that if this procedure doesn't work, a heart transplant may be in order...

I think it's time to start crossing our toes now along with our fingers... If you are a person of faith... Pray hard gang...

This was just posted by David Newton (Roger's Son) on International Waters:

Another quick update just posted by David Newton... It has been one long night for my father and my family. To make it short, his heart is not pumping like it should to its organs and his kidneys began to shut down last night. They transported him to UW at 5 this morning in hopes to put an assitant something in his heart to cure this, not sure if it will or can be temp or permanent. If this fails he will need a heart transplant. He will hopefully get out of surgery at 1. Please keep my father in your thoughts and prayers, he needs them more then ever now. I am going to try and get some sleep, hopefully I will come back later with better news to share later on today. David.

                        Damn...

                        Keep the faith guys...

                              Roger will be missed

Sure gives you a clear understanding of how life can be one moment and gone the next. I'll miss trading e-mails with you Roger! Roger always invited me to the pits in Madison, without fail. A very nice person that loved life.
