Which motor is faster

The 2028 is too big/heavy so that doesn't matter. The Kv of the 1527/1.5D is twice that of the 2028 so it has a higher speed potential, but it is really too much for 8S...a SAW-only application. Neither is suited to a small mono.

Not at all yanking any ones chain just not very knowledgeable on electric stuff. The 1990 ,,, 32" Aeromarine scorpion is a 40 size boat I set quit a few records in that class at the time. I put a Ackerman Picco 67 exr. in there and went even faster with no handleing issues. It took another SAW records in c class. As far as I am concered the Scorpion is a great handling boat the deck molds were burnt up in AM fire back in the 90's I have the the flat deck witch was burnt up , this deck makes the difference. I guess I will use the neu motor and run 6 or 7 cells what do you think thanks Chris

It depends on what you want the boat to do Chris. On 6S the 1527 gets you into the 70s and you "could" oval race it. If all you want to do is make SAW passes then try 8S, just start small on the prop - like an x447, that should be safe for a few passes then you can prop up. Just make two passes and bring it in.

6-7s with that neu motor, 7s will pull some amps you'll need a worthy esc.
I like odd cell counts for a boost on a SAW setup, it will run it fine. Keep an eye on temps anything and everything will heat up quick in this heat wave.Comment
