Tuning a cat for different water conditions help

I'll keep this brief. Running my cat in:

Rough water = try not to flip it
Med 1-2" chop = runs awesome. Smooth, fast, good run time, low heat
Light chop to glass = wah wah wah, slower, less run time, more heat


So basically, I want to know, do you guys have any tricks to running in different conditions? And what can I do to lower temps on glass?


Set up:
Mean machine
Castle 2200
5s2p
T-180
X642 detounged
Strut 3/16 up
Cog 9" or about 30%


I've been thermaling in the heat lately.

For flat water try moving the CG back at least 1/4". Raise the strut 1/8" and angle it up at the prop end a couple degrees. Test and raise it another 1/16" etc. Raise it too far and the prop will blow out. Set up correctly the MM will run the fastest on smooth water.

So I moved my packs back a half inch and whoa what a difference!
I haven't even done the strut yet.
