but they all involve movement of water, one has water flowing around it, other is moving on it. flow is flow. its all fluid dynamics.

Just run your hull in slick glass water and radar it...then scuff the bottom, and rader it in the same conditions. I bet the results will speak for themselves. Also, if you do this on an o/b tunnel, tell me how much better the handling was and how it didnt do stupid odd things with the bottom scuffed.

I could see a boat "sticking" to water better with a roughed up surface, going faster not so much.:)

Or install a Data Logger like Eagle Tree. BTW my revolt hull IS scuffed. You need something to do A-B-A testing. Me I was done wasting time and the ET has saved me TIME on the water looking for answers.

Lads, you are "beating a dead horse"....As noted others have stated scuff or lightly sand.

So what did you see with the ET ? How much of a gain with a scuffed hull ?

I think instead of scuffing I will just glue the sandpaper to the hull, wet sanding paper of course!:) I could always sand blast to, a fellow has to keep his options open!:)

From what I've been told that probably won't work because the sanding should be done paralel with the hull

Two strips of 1000grit would make nice ride pads on any hydro or cats! Saves the trouble of blue printing!
Too many boats, not enough time...
