The BJ comes with a higher kv motor and higher amp esc, so its a bit faster depending on how you tune it. Lots of info in the ProBoat section here on OSE. Both are nice boats. Both need hull work, like lining inside of hull with carbon fiber cloth, blueprinting. PB claims you can run 6S in the stock BJ. DONT do it, there is an wire impedance prob and the deans will melt off....DJ

Both will be about the same, Higher kv doesn't always mean faster, as you have to run a smaller prop to keep the load under control.
Don't waste you time with carbon fiber on these boats, they are what they are. Blue printing the sponsons does make a difference in how well they run.
People need to face reality with these boats, they are fairly cheap ready to run boats engineered to run at the speeds the stock setup gives, everything is built/assembled to a price point where an average beginner boater will actually buy one!
Not saying they are bad, I have a couple rtr boats in the fleet, but once you start building "good" boats you can really see where the Proboats and Aquacrafts are lacking.
Some of the most fun running we have is when everybody gets their box stock RTR boats out and has at it. It's slower but everybody is on a level playing field where driving and not wallets determine who comes out ahead.
Choose whichever you like the most won't be much speed difference ONCE you have learned how to set a boat up and gotten the right prop on it.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?
