Getting boat today! SV or BJ??

Im leaving in about 25 minutes to get my first boat.... I cant decide between a supervee 27 or blackjack 26...
What do you think of each one and the pros and cons of them?!

    Thanks a lot

The BJ may take more effort (and parts = $) to get it running as well as it can. I see a lot of guys replacing the steerable outdrive in favor of a strut and rudder ($100 or so). The SV only needs some attention to detail to get it running well. This attention includes sealing the wood, moving the batteries forward, double-checking the drive shaft alignment, and relocating the antenna to make a water-tight tape-down hatch.

That said, I like cats better and a quick BJ is always a good thing. :p

after watching a bj(nitro version converted to electric) my impressions are that the bj hull was designed more for running solo than racing(ran great on 'clean water', wakes gave it some problems), and that the sv was designed for racing out of the box... for me I like the sv, but you're the one who has to live with it, so I guess it would depend on which one you like best and whether you want to try and race in an organised race

I thought you were leaving in 25 minutes and you would be reporting back on which one you bought! Couldn't decide huh? I prefer an SV but it doesn't really matter for your use. Which type of boat would you like to watch zip around, a cat or a v-hull? You will like either one but the SV needs a bit of "prep" right off the bat.

if you're not going to be racing(for now anyway) then it doesn't really matter which one you get. they are both decent boats for the price.

It all ready depends on how fast you want to go. If you plan to keep the stock setups in the boats and run lipos, both boats will be plenty fast and fun. Alot of people say the BJ won't turn, but if you move the batteries up just a bit it will turn fine. Not as good as the SV, but if you are not racing then who really cares.

BJ all the way. Better equipment and electronics. More fun as well.

Jeff your right but the BJ out drive is weak, and it has a tendency to lean on the starboard side
