    Aquacraft motor shaft bent

Have posted this in the Aquacraft RTR thread

    Good day all

I have recently ordered a Aquacraft Revolt 30 from Omnimodels.
The problem I have is that there are a lot of up/down and sideway movement at the coupler/flex shaft – The movement can be seen when turning the prop by hand and the motor mounts are also moving around.
I thought it was the aquacraft flex shaft or coupler, but I ordered a upgraded flex shaft and octura coupler from offshoreelctric (Received yesterday). The same problem.
So this morning I installed my receiver and removed coupler/flex shaft from motor and gave it some throttle – When giving about 10% throttle, you can see that the motor shaft are wobbly/running off center.
The alignment between motor and stuffing tube are 100% - the upgraded ose flex cable slides in like butter.

    Any advice?

Have just received a mail from hobbico, that I can send the motor back for a warranty inspection, but a similar size package (ESC) cost me $55 last year to send to the states from South Africa (Normal 5 weeks shipping). Shipping from South Africa is very expensive. New Aquacraft motor + shippment to me is $79.
I don`t see any loose shafts available for the 3656 1800kv motor.

If shipping is THAT expensive, get a new one, I have never heard or read anything like that before, sorry to hear your problem.
Having said that, I had a brand new 1800kv motor that burned during the first use, about two or three minutes into running, don't know why, the wires exting the rear endbell shorted out, I can take the rotor out and send it to you, if you can wait. I posted the question on the other thread just so I want to make sure it will work, but no one has answered my question.

If it works, you don't have to pay postage, I will send it for free.

It will work, assuming the rotor is the actual problem.

        Hi tlandauer

Thanks for the effort, but luckily Adam from Hobbico exchanged a few emails with me and he will send me a complete motor with water jacket installed from another hull.
If something goes wrong, I will press on your button.
        Thanks again for the effort.

No - Hobbico have send it on the 12th, don`t know what shipping they have used. But standard shipping normally takes 3-4 weeks. Hopefully it was priority mail which will take a week and a 1/2.
                Will let u know.

Have just received my motor with cooling jacket - no more wobbling motor shaft. Flex shaft/motor shaft are running straight and smooth as butter. In the stupid process of balancing/sharpening my stock prop.
Will hopefully maiden it this weekend.

I had a good experience with Hobbico on a motor and esc that was bad on Motley Crue. They sent me replacement motor, esc and water jacket. Great customer service.
