And no, I don't think I'll see a discount for giving a . Lol.

The R42 and Conquest are the most popular boats in my neck of the woods. From what I gather talking to the gas folks that race them is the R42 might be a bit better performer for racing but more sensitive on the set up. Then again, I don't know how the two compare in FE versions. Good driving skills probably outweigh any performance difference for most. Doesn't it always...

I've got a 2217 and it's laughing at every prop I've put on it. Made it up to a 1465. That just laid the boat over on its' side. LOL I would need a blow torch to warm this motor up. 2230 must be even more torqy.

2230 Sucks on anything less than 12S... I was running a 2614/ABC and pulling 280 amps. No it was not warm but you really need 12S to light that thing up. Thats equal to a 466 to 470 Octura in pitch. I put in a Lehner 3080 and at the same amp draw I am going 10-15mph faster. (OK LET THE THRASHING BEGIN) I will sell you mine if you like Terry?

you really cant race anything other than a rigger at 70+mph speeds, your boat might do it but you're not going that fast in a race it's nice to have it if you need it though!!!!

I am not going to thrash ya it is the motor I have for the big boat. It works for me, most of the time I run P LTD any way.

No use for a 2230. The 2217 works really well. Maybe a big ole mono in the future. Wait........there's a big mono in my basement I forgot about. hmmmmmm

This is so true, most of the faster gas guys end up upside down after a few laps. It would be ideal to prop it so that there's not much lost in the turns.

I put a 2230 in a 48" mono for a friend of mine. Set the IMPBA 1/3 mile oval record with it before it had paint on it. Also won the "Unlimited" class with it at the Spring Nationals. Nothing fancy, Castle 200HV 10s2p Giant Power 6000s and a Smock mod 467.
