How far up the nose of a rivercat does a CF inlay go?

Well my mate wants to do a CF inlay but we are both not sure on how far the CF inlay goes into the front of a catamaran hull? We cant see how it would help just doing were the motor is mounted etc. We have read and looked at a lot of inlays but cant work out how far it goes up the front.

It's a good idea to go as far as you can. Aside from the inlay you Want to make sure you get the seams where the boat joins as far up as possible to. That said a lot of people just put the carbon fiber in the area where you can see it so it looks nice. Bring it up a least past the seams and if your going to end it infront of the hatch it's a very good idea to cut strips and do the seams till the tips. Adding some cf where the tunnel meets the top is one of the best things you can do to. Adding and ounce or two of resin mixed with milled fiberglass and some chopped up cf and pouring into the tips is good insurance to.
You can do as little or as much as you like. What I have described is what I would do as a Minimu.

Depends how fast you want to go. At a minimum I always go from the transom to maybe a half inch fore of the front hatch opening. On my SAW boat I did as far forward as I could. Top, bottom and sides. Believe me it was a PITA.

I reckon you guys are bloody clever to get the cloth right up the front. I had to fix the boat before I sold it as the front seams were cracking I did a CF layer on the outside and some chopped up cf and resin pouring into the tips. My mate wants to do a layer right to the front so I will let you guys know how it goes.

Clever, no. Creative.. Yes. I got within a couple inches of the nose and then foamed everything up. It was a PITA!!
