motor and esc advice for this rigger

I picked this up as it is at a swap meet a couple of
years ago and figured it was time to do something
with it. I would be happy if it would run in the mid
to high 40 mph range. I would like to run it on a 2s
5000mah 45c pack as I have some of those. it measures
    25.5" long , 9.5" inside the sponsons and 15.25"
wide at the outside of the sponsons. it weighs 1lb 14ozs.
it was built by Maus as a 12 cell brushed system.
it has a 3/16 flex shaft installed.
any advice on motor kv and esc amps would be appreciated
    thanks

We run N-2 sport hydros about that long with a 7L Feigao motor on 2S. With an x440 prop we get mid-40s. Any decent 36x60 to 40x75 motor with around a 3500 Kv would work fine. Most of us run ESCs with 120 to 150 amp ratings. Low voltage does not mean low amps!

      Thanks Fluid
I was thinking in the 3000-4000 kv range. I would
not have bought a esc that big though.
I'm glad I didn't buy anything yet. guess
I'll have to shop some more.
      thanks

Nope, a 'glass Maus. A popular 12-cell FE oval rigger in the 1990s. Twelve Sanyo 1700s, a big Aveox and an Octura 1750 - a winning combination.
