ready to give up turning into money pit

had fun with sv27 got a better boat that wasnt rtr pursuit got good stuff to put in top notch motor good radio good batterys a t a hefty price . puffed old batterys determind they were wore out. bought 100.00 8000mah 5s numbers im getting on charge scared me . asked if i was charging it right was told yes . got one good run on it . ran 5 min nothing hot put on store charge after . charged it this morning took it out ran the 2 bld it came with just to let it unload alittle ran good off the start then acted like low voltage kicking in just putting and little or no steering shut off trans turned back on got a little burst to get it to shore . checked it with my buzzer wasnt setting off buzzer when plugged in? when charging noticed end charge 20vlts dont think this pack is supose to be that high and balance between the cells isnt dead on any where from 4.10 to 4.13 it says 2.06 all ? batt spec is 5s 1 p 8000mah does all this sound normal should cells be closee on balance number hate to fight with hobby king on bad battery its brand new
if i can put it on to video of bat tester and charger charger is hyperion that auto sets everything when you put in batt spec

pack voltage is supposed to be 21 fully charged. .03 differential isn't ideal but not so far out the pack is toast, that's why we have balancers. Is the esc a seaking or turnigy 180? if so there is common issue with the lvc on that controller, turn it down or turn it off and time your runs.

I ran my pursuit yesterday with the t180 ESC. When the lvc cut in i came to shore but when i got home to charge it to storage mode i found out that the voltage on each cell was in the 3.5V but the lvc on the esc was set to cut off at 3.2V should i turn my lvc off too?

I'd leave as is. 3.5 is safe. I usually never bring mine below 3.6 anyway.

the 180 is a great little esc, except the lvc doesnt work. i lost 2 batteries to this esc because i thought the boat was not trimmed correctlly. assumed my half throttlr runs were because boat could not plane. it was the faulty lvc cutting in. after i turned off the lvc and timed my runs, everything has run great.

If you have your LVC set at 3.2V I would expect the pack voltage to read a few tenths higher when it's not under load. 3.5V sounds about right.

ok thanks for the input guys I asked this because the first time i ran the boat but the battery after running every cell was in the 3.2 cause my lvc was set to 3.2 but when i ran it last saturday with the lvc at 3.2 the cells dropped to 3.5V not 3.2. I will prefer it to drop at 3.2 so i could have more runtime

Rick is correct. The voltage will rebound and comeback up a bit after the load is taken off. Taking your packs down to 3.2 will probably shorten their life. I'm with kfx. I try to never go below 3.6V and actually shoot for 3.8v. When I had a T180, I turned off the LVC. I always time my runs when sport running.
