    SMC race formula lipos

I have some SMC lipos that are new to me. I have run them hard in my 1/5 scale truck very hard and now have run them in my Boat. I have been in R/C for a lot of years running gas, nitro and electric.
As electric goes I have learned that the power out put from batteries is how you find speed. esc and motor need great power to perform at there best.
SMC are the best lipos I have used so far! I would like to know if anyone has tried the SMC 6500?
Also if they have found a better lipo that I should be using. I want to get fast and I know it starts with the battery! I run the TP Power motors in the boat and find that the esc and motors are running just past warm so they are running very efficient at the moment.

I've been running them in my cars, shorty 2s 4600, reg 2s 7200, and 4s 6500 since beginning of winter. Great quality for great prices, and apparently good support. I'm just not too keen on hardcase in boats, IMO the Dinogy's are a better option for boats. FWIW, most Lipo's have a ton of punch on the first few cycles, it's after 10 cycles or so where you start to see what thy're really all about. Some fade a touch in performance, some hold their own. For me, it's Dinogy in boats and SMC in cars right now.

I also use them in my 1/5 that pushes a Beast X524 2Y motor on 8s. I push it very hard and the SMC lipo's have great punch so far. Keeping parts from braeking is anthor story though. So with the Dinogy? Are you getting the same performance as the race formula series from SMC?
Looking at the Dinogy web site, I find that the performance isn't as good as SMC at any cost. Also smc IS 1/2 THE COST! I would like to run a set and see if the two are close or if SMC is just where I need to be. I like the hard case because I use velcro on the bottom and wedge foam on top, between the lipo and the hull. I works great.

SMC is a bit cheaper, but not half. I'm not sure how you can compare performance based on the websites either, especially with lipos, where "ratings' can be questionable. I have not run SMC in boats, but I have run a few others, and Dinogy has been the best to me. On the other hand, I have not had as much luck with the Dinogy car packs/hardcase. In speaking to Mark F, the problem with car packs/hardcase, they are restricted to a size limit to meet ROAR race specs, and fit in battery trays, so the cells have to be made smaller. This in effect limits the performance potential to a degree, and I certainly notice the difference. For example a Dinogy(or Hyperion) 4s/5000 is longer/larger than the Dinogy 4s/5400 hardcase, or the SMC hardcase for that matter. That is not wasted space, they are made larger and perform better because of it......I also use velcro on the bottom and foam wedge on the top in a couple boats, with the Dinogy soft packs, you don't need hardcase to do that. Like I said, for me, SMC is the best choice in cars right now, but for the much more demanding boats I'm very happy with Dinogy, Hyperion is up there too, but they're a little more $.

Look at spc lipos. They look to be the same as the smc. Looks to be the same prices and same offerings. I bet they are the same battery. If so, the smc is a good battery because I like the spc ' s I'm running.

Which boat are you running your SMC LIPO'S in? Whats your speed? Have you run DINOUGY lipo yet? If so, which do you like more.
