Rudder Length Questions.... Short or Extended from the back of the boat?

    Gentlemen,

I'm in the process of building a Twin and want to know if there is any advantage with buying an extended rudder for the back of the boat? Is there something I gain by having it extended an extra inch or two. I see some are 1.1 inches from the mount point on the middle of the back of the boat and others have bought the extension pieces and or extended rudder all together. Please lend me any insight you many have that can help. Thanks
