4082 Leo in a river cat

Hi All I have a friend that is looking at putting a 4082 leo into his river cat or Apparition I think he's mad maybe a 3674?. Its my old boat and it was running a steady 103kph and top speed was 110kph unfortunately I have had to part with it due to personal reasons . It has got me wondering what is the largest motor so far that has been fitted into a river cat.

I have a 1515 2200kv castle in mine. I've been told it has more power than a 4082. I think the leopard motor is going to be a tad too long also. May fit...depends on the mount

Hi kfx I really don't think that hull would handle a 4082 leo and I agree he will need a low profile motor mount as the factory one has a steep angle, isn't the 1515 castle a 4082 ?. Once things settle down with me I will purchase another boat.

I think the 4082 is 10mm longer but doesn't have the power the 1515 has. I can assure you, it can handle a 1515 with ease. Heck my 26" rivercat has an 1800kv 1512 castle on 6s and it does just fine.

I squeezed a Neu 1524 in mine. Used the FC mount but had to drill some new holes to get the motor to fit under the cowling. Also had to do a S Bend in the stuffing tube to make it work.

I ran almost 90 mph in mine with a Neu 1521 on 4S. It fit on the same Williams mount I used for the 1515. No S bend required. Plenty of room if you plan for it.

I have a leopard 4074 in my rivercat and it required me cutting a hole in the bottom of the hull to get it to sit down low enough for the lid to close. This boat has run as fast as 67.4 mph on gps. It is the best balanced boat ive ever owned and it rarely if ever gets light in the front

This will show how flat they run. Here my maiden voyage with an x642 prop

                  4s (slow lol)

                  5s (a little faster)

and 6s ( it flipped because I tried to correct it too quickly)

and here's my mini which is a little more impressive because I wasn't scared to get on it. Is a 1512 castle 1800kv on 6s with a mamba monster 2 car esc

I have one with a FighterCat 3740 2000kv 3000 watts outrunner on 5S. I think this is a 10 pole motor that weighs 390 grams. This is my fastest boat so far. Fast enough that people I don't know are taking photos and video of it and are completely WOWED! Need to get a GPS unit.
