What budget RTR boat has the most potential to grow?

Looking at picking up my first boat and want to pick something up around or under $200, but want something I can eventually make pretty quick down the road when I get accustomed to driving it. Looking at stuff like the Proboat miss geico 24, or the shockwave 26, but am open to anything else in my price range. Eventually I would like to go brushless with some 4 or even 6s if it could handle it.

I haven't bought a rtr boat but know for a fact people like the aquacraft revolt 30.

From what I have gathered this is the best rtr mono you can buy, or if you're into cats an aquacraft motley crew. Both actually get you into the hobby where you can play with adjustments and you'll have an idea of how things should run if and when you decide to build your own custom boat.

The revolt can be had for under 250 as a bind and drive on ebay with free shipping.

I am going to disagree with that statement... It's a nice RTR, but I don't think it can qualify as "the best rtr mono"... that's a little bold to say.

You will be pushing your luck trying to run 4S or 6S in the smaller 24-26" hulls. You'd be better served to save whatever $$$ you would likely be spending to upgrade and buy yourself a better starting point. It will save money in the end.

For all around fun, a Mono is usually the easiest to keep going. Cats are a close second. The mono is likely to stay upright under more conditions once nicely tuned.

I would try to find either a Pro Boat IM31 V2, or an AQ Revolt.
