    45" ish mono

I am wanting to build a new mono. I'm thinking about a 45" ish hull. I have a 5692 1000kv motor coming. My question is, what are some good hulls to build. I've looked at the areomarine outerlimits xxx, and a few others. I'm wanting hull and hardware recommendations.
    Thanks

Nice start. I run a XXX. Have for years. Runs well. I have to admit thought that a sniper 41 or 45 runs better. Now understand I race not sport run. WhT is your goal with the build ?

There aren't any race events near by, but I do enjoy going fast and if the chance comes up I will race. The sniper 45 was another hull I was looking at. I like going fast and am always tweaking and tuning to go faster. I have looked at the seaducer and speedcraft hulls too. Mainly I want something fast that I can run if the water isn't smooth as glass.

I don't have experience with other big monos, but I love my 45" Sniper...

There are some inexpensive hulls on Ebay fought now...search for promise hobby 47"
I'm building one now with 5692 730Kv leopard in a used hull from a friend. Hull seems to be well built in my opinion, copy of a Delta Force. I haven't run it yet, so I can't weigh in on that aspect. Just another option for you.

The Hurricane is a proven FE racing mono, we have had several in the club and they are great hulls for race water. Ones which have run very well had Neu 2215/2Y or Lehner 3060/10 motors on 10S. Speeds depended on the prop, for race water speeds are low-mid 60s. For speed, mid-70s with the right prop. Snipers are potentially faster but do not handle rough water as well as the Hurricanes. It really depends on what you want for the boat. Regardless, 8 or 10S is better with a motor having a Kv around 750.

How about a AC S45? I have someone local here looking to part with one, fresh and undrilled.

I have considered a hurricane, I saw Jim Vaughn's run and was very impressed. I think a heavy gas boat is more what I'm looking for. I may have to get a lower kv motor, I'm ok with that.

                        I'd run 8s2p.

Swordfish 240 or 300 would be nice. Kevin's sniper runs very nice! Also I would consider the delta force 41 mono a bit smaller wetted area so easier on electronics. Believe me when I say this thing can take race water and tear it up. I had a friend running 1000kv 10s2p but this is pretty extreme id run 8s2p.

the hurricane is a great boat I've had 2, I've sold them just because I have so many other boats and they just sat there for the most part, but when I did race them I won with them. I had one with the 5692/1000kv and ran it on 8s itwas 60mph in race trim. the other was w/ aLehner 3080 and it was rediculous so much power. But they are great raceboats.

There was a race in Crosby in March that allowed electrics to race with the gas guys. Check here for the series and here for our district races.
