    Blueprinting?????

Proper meaning - The procedure of improving the performance of an engine by dismantling and then rebuilding the reciprocating parts so that they meet exact tolerances.

This procedure has nothing to do with sanding the bottom oh hulls - so why does everyone call it that????

I believe this is a common term for removing imperfections to the said article, in this case a hull bottom.
Having spent a good few years overhauling Rolls Royce gas turbine engines, and other makes, I have an o.k idea of what are excact tolerances are.
Anything can be blueprinted so long as you have the manufacturers specifications and the ability to measure to those specs.
Once you have those then you will need the means to achieve those specs.....and verify them.
True blueprints are not often seen these days but the concept still holds.
Another type of blueing can be a ball, those who have used blueing compound and a lapping table will know what that is all about. Try a 4 pot head lapped straight to the block to eliminate the need for a gasket and thus raise the compression. GO FORD !!!!
I think I'll leave this one for now before I get real happy !!
    See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood
