Anyone having trouble uploading / sharing video via photobucket ?

    Hi guys ,

So Saturday I took mysetuain & mean machine to the local pond, to shoot a couple shakedown videos with the new setups since getting them back together. due to an error with my camera I didn't get a video in of my Traxxas villain, however I did get a decent video in with my mean machine catamaran On the 2350kv / m445 / 4s1p x2 parallel setup.

since Saturday afternoon I have uploaded the video to Photobucket 4 times and for some reason it refuses to show up in my account. the other six videos I uploaded previously host & play just fine ?.

is anyone else having this same issue with Photobucket lately ?

I've never tried uploading a video to Photobucket, Photobucket only offers a limited amount of storage space for free and if you want more you have to pay for it which I am not willing to do, so I would rather stick to keeping photos on it which take up much less space, if I want to share a video with the net I use Youtube which gives you an unlimited amount of storage space for free.

It could be that you have run out of space on your account, photobucket offers 2gb for free, I don't know what your camera is or if it uses compression or you compress your footage before uploading but a pure uncompressed HD video will be roughly 166MB/s so 12sec would fill it, most consumer grade cameras use compression so I expect it to be a lot less than that popular HDV and H.264 HD files are between 3-5MB/s giving you 6.6-11 minutes of storage for HD files straight off an average consumer camcorder, further compression or downsizing is possible. Or alternatively your 2gb will give you 5,000 forum sized 800x600 photos at an average of 200KB each, much more useful IMO when there are other popular, easy to use and free alternatives for video.

      Hi Paul ,

I have been with photobucket for 10+ years & never had a problem until now. I was poking around my account to check my storage space because I had the same thought. Apparently this isn't the issue because I have 10Gb of storage.

My camera is a Canon SX130/IS, 12.1mp that shoots apple format HD video. A 4 min. video averages 250 - 275mb. After shooting I use Xilisoft video converter to reformat it to Divx video. Even with the audio/video quality jacked up, that 275mb video comes out to about 75-90mb Divx which is DVD quality

I already switched to YouTube & uploaded my first video, now I need to upload the rest & delete them from my photobucket acct...
