Things aren't good at Hor racing, read if you have an order pending!

I attempted making a purchase from Hor racing despite some of the bad press they had been getting. I should have known better. The order stayed at the pending stage for weeks, no emails were responded to when I inquired about the order status. I was polite in all emails as I knew it can take a long time for things to happen there. In the fourth week I started a claim. Hor didn't respond to the initial claim. I escalated the claim and hor didn't respond to it either. The claim was found in my favor by default which is very disturbing. PayPal stated in there email that if they didn't have sufficient funds in there account that action would be taken and may include limiting the sellers account privileges.
It's common enough for the initial claim to be ignored but any claim I have had to
escalate is usually settled within a day or two. Hor ignoring the whole process and having a judgement made against them where paypal will be taking the money from their account (if money is there) and the chance of having limitations placed the account is something any seller would avoid at all costs. This is over $69. It's obvious they are having serious problems and I have to wonder if they are even still in business. At the very least they are having management and cash flow issues. Crazy considering my order was so small to begin with. I have not recieved my money back yet, just a judgement in my favor. It will be interesting to see if hor has money in their account to cover it. If not it will be further delays getting my money back. It's been over six weeks at this point. I just wanted to post this as a warning to others. The complete lack of communication from Hor through this whole process really makes me wonder.
I haven't had any serious problems dealing with them till now though my expectations have never been high with them in the first place. Buyer beware.

Hey man, sorry to here about the problems you have with HOR. I have 2 couplers and a servo mount on the way with tracking number etc... only a $30 order but, it's on the way. Maybe you will get some money back from the money I put in his account?

You have to set up an account with tfl. I wish there was a place who carried their stuff and knew how to run a business correctly. Like ose or kintec. One of them should stock the popular tfl hulls and hardware.

Do you mean some people are not creating an account with HOR? Maybe this is the problem?? I've had an account with him for at least 5 years and although the majority of my orders are not even close to $500 like some people have done, I've only had one mistake from Johnny.

I plan on doing orders through tfl plus kintec carries a lot of the tfl stuff. That's where I got the parts I needed once I gave up on hor. It's strange how orders can be going out smoothly while they ignore emails and don't respond to paypal. Once paypal becomes on the hook for the money it won't leave hor in to good a position. I find it hard to believe this is an isolated incident. I will get the money eventually, that's not such a big deal. I just wanted to get this out there so people know what they may end up in, this could have been a big dollar order. I can't understand why it go this far.

Ray, I have an account with them and have placed many orders. I didn't realize you had any other option, how could you place an order without an account? Regardless any option they offer for purchasing there products should have the same priority.

This will be the first instance I know of where paypal will be debiting a paypal account (hor) without the sellers permission. So easily avoided it doesn't make sense.

In the past, a couple years ago, all I had to do was Email Johnny and say, I'd like this and this and this and he would send me a paypal invoice and I'd pay and then it came. Things have changed since then obviously.

Not trying to advertised for Ampeater but I will personally vouch for Tom. He's a good guy and he's one of us. Just another FE nut job. Tom doesn't stock everything TFL makes. Nobody could. There's a bunch.

And yet, here in Oz, a guy in our club ordered a hull from him a couple of weeks ago & it arrived within 10 days.
Seems to be hit & miss.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Order a hull and some hardware from them last year - took almost 2 MONTHS to get my order. What finally got it rolling was that after a month of waiting, I filed a claim with Paypal - and right before the claim would have been awarded in my favor, I got a tracking number. Turns out that even though I got most of my stuff, a couple things were missing and I had to re-file a claim with Paypal for the price of the missing parts.

He has some great things at great prices on there - but you can't assume you'll get what you order, which is a shame.

I checked out ampeaterracing and it's good to know there's another option out there where I can get what I order. I checked the tfl website but couldn't make heads or tails of how to create an account or place an order plus they only had 8 boats or so listed and it was not very well done. Kintec has really been on top of things getting orders out fast. If only OSE carried tfl as well!
